Storlien is a mountain destination in Western Jämtland, close to the Norwegian border. The grand hotel with 200 rooms on the mountainside sets the character of the village and the ski slopes, ski school and ski tracks are all part of the complex. In the summer there are longer and shorter hikes beginning in Storlien. The most well known hike is the Blomsterstigen trail, designed by Doctor Westerlund who gave people meaning, purpose, exercise, healthy food and a social connection to make them recover from their inner stress. Storlien is also a center for border trade with bulk packages of different foods.
